More than this, we’re really looking for someone who has the attitude to drive our macOS product forward to meet our company ambitions. Whether you’re an experienced macOS developer, or if you’ve gained experience on other platforms and have an interest in macOS, this position could be for you.

As a macOS developer, you’ll join a skilled development team that look after a cross-platform code base that brings together solutions to enhance Windows, Ubuntu, macOS, iOS, ChromeOS and various thin clients. Our code base is primarily C++, with a subset of macOS and iOS written in Objective-C.

You will be joining us at an exciting time; we have an ambitious roadmap to deliver the next generation of our current product. You’ll be working as part of an agile team on all parts of the development lifecycle with a clear goal ahead.

Our UK office is situated at Sci-Tech Daresbury just off Junction 11 of the M56, with easy access from Warrington, Manchester, Liverpool or Chester. We offer flexible working hours from home or from our Daresbury office.

As a member of our development team your responsibilities will include:

  • The design and development of the macOS components of a multi-platform application that aligns with our product roadmap and customer needs.
  • Utilizing your skills in Objective-C and C/C++ programming to write efficient, clean, testable, and maintainable code whilst adhering to enterprise-level security and compliance requirements.
  • Participation in code reviews, providing valuable feedback to maintain code quality and adherence to best practices.
  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks, optimizing application performance to ensure a seamless user experience.
  • Stay current with the latest developments in macOS technologies, frameworks, libraries, and best practices to drive innovation within the team.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, including design specifications, architecture diagrams, and user guides.
  • Proactively diagnose and resolve software issues, collaborating with the support team to deliver timely solutions.
Qualifications
At deviceTRUST, we believe that your professional attitude is more important than specific technical skills. If you’re missing any of these then we still want to hear from you – we’ll offer support to help you overcome any gaps.

  • Industry experience as an enterprise application developer, preferably on the macOS platform.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ or Objective-C programming languages, with an understanding of macOS-specific APIs and frameworks.
  • Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and object-oriented principles.
