Responsibilities
We are seeking a talented and experienced Software Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in testing enterprise software, a passion for driving product quality, and the ability to contribute to software design discussions to ensure testability. Proficiency in automating testing using scripting languages such as PowerShell is highly desirable.
Our UK office is situated at Sci-Tech Daresbury just off Junction 11 of the M56, with easy access from Warrington, Manchester, Liverpool or Chester. We offer flexible working hours from home or from our Daresbury office.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and quality assurance, to ensure the delivery of high-quality software products.
- Develop, implement, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts, with a focus on functionality, performance, security, and compatibility.
- Automation of testing processes using cloud native tools and scripting languages.
- Identify, document, and track software defects, working closely with development teams to facilitate timely resolution and validation.
- Participate in software design discussions, offering insights and recommendations to ensure the product's testability and quality from the early stages of development.
Qualifications
- Experience as a Software Quality Engineer or similar role, preferably with software running within a cloud environment.
- Strong scripting skills (e.g. Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc)
- Understanding of software testing methodologies, best practices, and defect tracking tools.
- Familiarity with software development concepts and the ability to provide valuable input into software design discussions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
